Clarity International School is a small, boutique Cambridge school in Oeiras — and deliberately so. With a maximum of 15 students per class, it sits at the opposite end of the spectrum from the large international schools in the area. The focus is on individual attention, close teacher-student relationships, and a learning environment where no child gets lost in the crowd.

The school follows the Cambridge curriculum and teaches in English, with Portuguese included as part of the programme. It currently covers ages 3 to 12 — primary and lower secondary years.

One genuinely distinctive feature: Clarity offers a trial week for new families. This is rare among international schools anywhere, and reflects real confidence in what the school offers day-to-day. For families who are uncertain or new to the area, it removes a significant barrier to evaluating fit before committing.

Frequently asked questions
What makes Clarity different from other international schools?
The defining feature is class size — a maximum of 15 students. Most international schools in the Lisbon area have classes of 18–25. Smaller classes mean more individual teacher attention, stronger relationships, and a very different daily experience for children. Clarity also offers a trial week for new families, which is genuinely unusual.
Does Clarity offer a trial week?
Yes — Clarity offers prospective families a trial week before committing. This is rare among international schools anywhere and is a genuinely useful way to assess whether the school is the right fit for your child, especially if you are new to the area or uncertain about the school.
What curriculum does Clarity follow?
Clarity follows the Cambridge curriculum, one of the most widely recognised international programmes. Teaching is in English, with Portuguese included in the programme. For a comparison with IB, see our IB vs Cambridge guide.
What ages does Clarity cater for?
The school currently covers ages 3 to 12. It does not yet have a senior school, so families should plan for a school transition for secondary education. For a full-cycle school in the same area, Oeiras International School covers ages up to 18.
Where is Clarity located?
The school is in Oeiras, between central Lisbon and Cascais. It is easily accessible from the A5 motorway and the Cascais commuter rail line.
